The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Division of Water, hereby gives notice that a permit application for the construction of wastewater conveyance has been received concerning the following:

The Chemours Company FC, LLC proposes to construct a wastewater treatment system to treat an acidic wastewater stream generated from an air pollution control device located in the Chemours Discovery Hub Building on the University of Delaware STAR campus in Newark, Delaware. The wastewater treatment system will control pH, fluorinated compounds and chlorinated compounds before pumping the treated water to the existing City of Newark gravity wastewater system on the campus.

A public hearing concerning the above application will NOT be held unless the Secretary of DNREC determines that a hearing is in the public interest or if a written meritorious request for a hearing is received on or before February 20, 2022. A request for a public hearing shall be deemed meritorious if it exhibits a familiarity with the application and provides a reasoned statement of the permit’s probable impact.
